Superman Man Of Steel: John Williams Famous Score Still an Option
Last week it was reported that Hans Zimmer, composer of Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies, was given the task to score the new Superman reboot. However at last nights Inception DVD/Blue ray release he has quoted quite the opposite.

Monsters 2010
With a limited budget of $500.000, Director Gareth Edwards, making his first movie debut in the directors chair, puts his own unique spin on the alien invasion movie.
Unlike most movies in comparison, this one starts where many other invasion movies leave off, with a unique vision to storytelling complemented by improvised dialogue by a cast of unknown but yet very capable actors.

Superman Man Of Steel: Zimmer to Score New Reboot
With news still bleak on the upcoming reboot one thing that is bound to shock fans of the previous Superman outings is that John Williams famous Superman score has been thrown out to make way for Hans Zimmer to bring to the table something new.
Zimmer composed the score for Batman Begins and the Dark Knight, and with Christopher Nolan producing the 2012 reboot of Superman, it comes as no real surprise he would approach the man who did such an amazing job with the score on Nolan’s massive Batman movies.

Unstoppable: A Runaway Suspenseful Thrill Ride
Denzel Washington and Chris Pine star in the suspenseful action flick Unstoppable, released in UK cinemas today.
Director Tony Scott takes us on a popcorn thrill ride with a unmanned half-a-mile runaway train, it’s toxic chemical cargo making it a deadly high speed missile through Pennsylvania. It’s up to Will Colson, a conductor, and Frank Barnes an engineer to figure out a way to stop the seemingly unstoppable locomotive before it reaches the town of Stanton which it will surely decimate.

From Hollywood To Hollywood: A Hilarious And Unforgettable Journey
Comedies rarely strike my fancy at the moment, my odd ball sense of humour being stubborn to the plate with the dribble the genre has produced this year on our big screens, and relying more on TV classics to entice that Cheshire-Cat grin I possess as well as that high pitched girly laugh that I am forever trying to man up.
However once in a while an unexpected little gem comes along, and with the risk of me sounding like a grumpy little toe rag right now, let me tell you about a feature that’s restored my faith in comedic ventures with a new DVD called From Hollywood to Hollywood.

Trick or Treat Week: Buried VS Paranormal Activity 2
Today’s Trick or Treat Week post is on two movies that are quite popular at the cinema this week, Buried and Paranormal Activity 2. While very excited to see both today (yes I sat through two movies at the cinema which cost me a small fortune!) which one will rank as the Trick or Treat?

Trick or Treat Week: Lake Placid 3
I really liked the original Lake Placid back in the day, to then be let down by one of the most boring sequels ever with Lake Placid 2. When watching the trailer for its third outing I thought some faith might be restored in our B-movie monster croc flick, instead what I observed was a croc of sh*t.

Scream 4 Trailer Sneak Peek
The Scream 4 trailer had its world premiere on Spike TV’s Scream awards over the weekend. The highly anticipated Sequel which is due out in April next year had the trailer leaked when people videoing the awards posted it online. Although not much can be seen but random shots with the movies main stars and what looks like Courtney Cox about to have a very bad day, the trailer has fuelled a buzz around what just might happen in the Sequel. Action Franchises you can‘t get Enough of ? Die Hard 5, Lethal Weapon 5 & Expendables 2
Mel Gibson’s Hollywood career has certainly seen better days. The once worshipped actor has been involved in a torrent of accusations and bad publicity due to his outlandish remarks and his struggle with alcohol. And now being dropped from his talent agency, the 54 year old actor might be forced back into a franchise that made him a global superstar, another Lethal Weapon.
The opposite can be said for Bruce Willis who seems to go from strength to strength as an action icon, the now 55 year old actor wants to do a further two Die Hard movies, and not only adding further sequels to a still popular franchise but even announcing his involvement in the inevitable Expendables sequel.

Despicable Me - A not so Despicable feature!
Not having much love for animation, and it certainly not being my choice of genre, my partner dragged me kicking and screaming to the nearest Odeon to watch this. And what’s more, I’m paying the premiere 3D ticket price for the both of us!…….Who’s distributing these 3D specs?…..DIOR?!
So I finally let all the bats free out of my wallet in an attempt to cheer myself up with a combo of nachos with extra cheese sauce to keep myself occupied while my better half (beginning to wonder) enjoys something ‘he thinks’ I’ll love.
Do you know what’s worse than paying for a movie you never wanted to see in the first place? Having your partner saying ‘I told you so’ all the way home!

October Updates: Superman Reboot, Dark Knight Sequel and Scream 4!
Below are updates to my previous posts with new gossip on the Superman Reboot, the Dark Knight sequel and Scream 4
Superman: Man Of Steel
What was once expected to be Jonathan Nolan’s directional debut, the Superman movie reboot has Zack Snyder, director of Watchmen and 300, now confirmed as helming the project. He was Warner Brothers and Christopher Nolan’s (who is godfathering/producing the movie) top choice for the upcoming massively anticipated project and was originally attached to Superman Returns before Bryan Singer took over. Jonathan Nolan and David Goyer are writing the script to which Zack Snyder had apparently immediately fallen in love with.

The Town.....Affleck's return to form!
Ben Affleck returns to the directing chair even stronger than his directional debut with Gone Baby Gone in this years already critically acclaimed movie.....The Town.
The Town, an adaptation of Chuck Hogan’s novel, has topped the U.S box office charts and becoming a huge success overseas. Rotten Tomatoes has given the movie a 95% positive rating, and critics are not only raving about its strong fast paced premise but also Affleck’s return to form.

Jeepers Creepers 3:Cathedral....Is the Creeper finally returning?
It has now been 7 years since Jeepers Creepers 2 and talks of a third instalment have been rumoured since JP2’s release in 2003.
Director and writer Victor Salva has assured fans that the movie was imminent since 2007, but with MGM being auctioned and script re-writes, the movie has been delayed time and time again.
So what is actually happening with this third instalment?

Superman - Christopher Nolan Reboot 2012
It is now very well known that Christopher Nolan, the man who brought us Batman back to the big screens in a way we all loved and respected is now helming a new Superman movie reboot. Nolan will be ‘godfathering’ the movie (no doubt producing) in what is expected to be his brother, Jonathan Nolan, first Directing debut.
While fans are elated that Superman will be getting the ‘Dark Knight treatment’, the main question that surrounds the reboot is just who will now play the Man Of Steel?

9/11 A day that we all will never forget….World Trade Centre and United 93
I found it fitting that today’s movie blog should be about the tragic events that happened 9 years ago today!
Like many of you, we will all remember the unbelievable and harrowing events of 9/11, most of us remembering exactly where we was when we heard the news and what we were doing at the time, and more importantly our thoughts will be with the people that lost their lives and the families and friends who suffer with the memory of today’s significance.
I blog today about two movies that I feel tells the story of that fateful day which also honers the memory of all involved, The World Trade Centre and United 93

Saw 3D….Game finally Over?

Expendables.....All Brawn and No Brains?
The Expendables has ranked number 1 in both UK and US box office charts this week. Stallones movie which has the biggest action cast ever assembled including Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger is proving to be a cash cow for movie goers this summer.
But is this action packed testosterone fest all Brawn and no Brains?

Just when you thought it was safe to get back in your dingy!
Hollywood is in remake heaven lately, and 2010 seems to be getting its fair share.
Karate Kid, Nightmare on Elm street, The Crazies, and The Wolfman to name a few.
Piranha is the latest movie to get a reboot/remake, coming to you in what moviemakers just seem to love these days...3D!

Nolan's Third and FINAL Batman...The Dark Knight Sequel
Christopher Nolan will bring his final Batman outing to the big screen sometime in July 2012. Nolan, who has rebooted the Batman franchise after the mess Joel Schumacher made with it in 1997 (Batman & Robin), has stated that the Dark Knight sequel will finish off his vision of the iconic DC character in this third outing.
Scream 4....The cast are back and so is Ghostface!
It's been nearly a decade now since the Scream Movies have graced the big screen.
Die-hard Scream fans have been crying out for a further instalment for years, and now, what was only ever intended to be a trilogy is most definitely getting a fourth instalment which is even intended to kick off a brand new trilogy!
