Joe Pesci Joins Gotti Biopic, Big Sur Cast Set
Joe Pesci gets back to his gangster roots as he joins the cast of the mob biopic Gotti: Three Generations. He will reportedly play the Dapper Don's deputy, Angelo Ruggiero. The film stars John Travolta as John Gotti, Sr. and is directed by Nick Cassevetes. In talks for a supposed major role is Lindsey Lohan. This is the first film about Gotti, Sr. approved by his son. The one-time Gambino crime family boss was convicted in 1992 of five murders, loan sharking, illegal gambling, obstruction of justice, tax evasion and bribery. Travolta calls this "probably the most interesting untold story in this country."
With the release of On the Road, a film adaptation of Jack Kerouac's seminal novel later this year, the news is that the cast for Michael Polish's Kerouac biopic, Big Sur, has been set. Jean-Marc Barr will play Kerouac, Josh Lucas is Neal Cassady, a Beat Generation figure, and Kate Bosworth is Billie, the woman linked to both of them. The rest of the cast includes Radha Mitchell, Anthony Edwards, Balthazar Getty, Patrick Fischler, Stana Katic, John Robinson and Henry Thomas.
According to Deadline, this film follows Kerouac's move from New York to Northern California as he tries to rediscover himself after the sudden, glaring fame and decadent lifestyle that came with the success of his groundbreaking novel.
In some rather interesting news, it seems Ryan Gosling is one of several actors now being considered for the role of the Lone Ranger in the Verbinski helmed update of the old television series that already boasts Johnny Depp as Tonto.

gotta love pesci
Pesci, as he's demonstrated countless times, was born for this kind of role. Rock on Killer Joe. Love this friggen guy!
He should do THE IRISHMAN with De Nirio. That would be wicked.
@Major.Mack I love Pesci, too. He's my favorite go to wiseguy.
@Matt Yep, Pesci is the ultimate made man. I can think of no better mob guy.
@Movies Now that would be epic casting right there. From your keyboard to H-Wood studio execs.
My point of view partially coincided with yours. Thank you for trying.
